Six Years Later.

Hello, family. How have you all been doing? I can't believe it's six years already.
My last blog post was in 2013 and I must admit that it's really a long time.
I thank God for life and purpose. I thank Him for your lives and blogspot. I thank Him for internet that's made it possible for us all to connect.
The journey of six years hasn't been rosy but He kept me. I mean I'm still standing. I'm bigger, better, wiser and more beautiful. Lol.
I studied, graduated, served my country, got a job (I will discuss the job later) , published 4 children literatures, co-authored 4 educational books; fell in love, fell out of love, preparing for marriage and so on. A lot has happened.

Soooo I'm back!

Yes, I'm really back to stay. I'm back to fight. I'm back to win. I will not run away this time. And I need you all to visit my blog, read, comment and share.

Hold on.... Be kind to people for no reason. The world needs more kindness.

DREAMING POET

I want to write a poem;
A poem so great and stirring;
A poem of great rhyme and rhythm;
So clever and profound!

Should it be bland blank verse, sonnet or triolet
Beautiful ballade, ballad, burlesque or cinquain?
A Petrarchan is the blue moon
Seen by my trained eyes…

I desire to pen great verses
A magnus opus showcased on high pedestal
Inscribed with pulsing adrenaline
Envied among equals

Yes, my incomprehensible mind
That engine room and store of words
Will churn out masterpieces
…in the fullness of time

Great poems I'll pen, many
Like cockroaches in a cracked house,
Until I perch on the Everest of poetry
And men shall call me Bragi

Though at the dawn of my quest,
I'll traverse uncommon hurdles
At the twilight of it all, I’ll sip Vin Rouge
In my bedroom slippers

THE WORLD WITHIN

Imagine a world without discrimination;
Where black and white speak of harmony
Where no mouth pronounces ‘segregation’
Where all sing only the hymn of unity

…the world is within us;
Singing a song of harmony
Day and night in our minds
But we seek only vanity

…the world is within us;
Calling on us in her silent voice
That our guns spill no blood again
That we allow peace to reign

That world we imagine
Is not yet beyond our reach!
Its voice speaks within us;
Let all tribes and colors listen

CIVILIZATION OR CRAZINESS?

 Indecent dressing is unbecoming in our society and I wonder why. Nigerian women,especially those in the higher institutions are now in the process of overstretching the sense of  fashion. Several of them now go barely nude in desperate attempt to be fashionable.
Is this civilization or craziness?
 The nation's dress culture is faced with challenges particularly, as a result of western influences and globalization. The problem, has made many Nigerians to turn away from the indigenous cultural mode of dressing in preference for western style.

 How can one explain the logical basis of outrageous and outlandish dressing that leaves the breast, thighs, navel and back, laps for public scrutiny? No doubt the boldness and courage exhibited by these ladies crystallize their intention more when considered against the backdrop of the inherent dancing steps adopted, as they prance about the street.
   Indecent dressing is disgraceful, ridiculous and exposes one to sexual assault. BEAUTY IS NEVER IN INDECENT DRESSING.

DON'T GIVE UP

When the going gets  tough
And your best friend fails you
When the road seems rough
And it's so hard to push through...

Miserable, you cry yourself to sleep
And you seems to loose hope
So sad, you groan and weep
And think you can't cope...

Friend, all is not lost yet
You can defeat defeat
You can win again,I bet
Keep on trying, don't retreat

Friend, never ever give up
All you have to do is brace up

BEFORE I SAY GOODBYE

I am hale and hearty
partying and smarty
healthy and wealthy
yet,death's footstep so stealthy

I am aware & It's so sure I will die
But I will do my best before saying goodbye
Give it all it takes to fly high
Even if I fail I will retry

Positive impact is what I will work for
Things so great to ignore
Every day, the truth I will stand for
Laziness & dishonesty I will run for

Now that I am young and strong
I will strive hard all day long
Be as strong as Jumong
So that at the end I will not be a mong

WONDROUS PEN

In my imagination, freely I pen
She receives me, every now and then
Though a poet unnamed
With this pen,a poet is proclaimed

The only one who could speak my mind
For with you, there is nothing to hide
You have been my better tongue
That do not want me to die unsung

You are my strength, pen
You are my voice, pen
The fountain of my creativity
The pillar of my poetic ability

My pen, mightier than sword
Deepest interest explored
My pen, so victorious
Makes me so glorious

My pen, my greatest instrument
Without you, I 'd have been impotent
My pen, my voice
My pen, my strength
